ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Nikolaus Thomas Grohne is an entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California. He has been fascinated by vintage ocean liners from the Edwardian/Belle Époque era since Dr. Robert Ballard found the wreck of the RMS Titanic in 1985.

Nikolaus started his career as production assistant on television commercials and NFL Europe sports games in Frankfurt, Germany. While earning his graduate degree in business and economics both at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and London Guildhall University, he interned with several film production companies located in Los Angeles, New York, and Paris, France. For most of his career, Nikolaus worked for a European mass media conglomerate located in Munich, Germany, and one of its television production subsidiaries in Los Angeles, California.

While being a fundraising volunteer for a planned extensive ocean liner wreck expedition between 2014 and 2020, Nikolaus gained valuable insights into the various challenges of getting major undersea exploration projects funded. In July 2020, Nikolaus started developing, revising, and continuously improving his multifaceted business model to turn the tide around and generate funding to help support established maritime institutions, museums, and other and registered nonprofit organizations executing their projects.

Subsequently, Nikolaus has registered a limited liability company Ocean Liner Endeavors, L.L.C. in the State of California and is currently working on implementing his charitable business initiative named The Ocean Liner Conservancy.
